Frequently Asked Questions:
Update - 14 July 2023
- Under which municipality does Bakersville fall?
Bakersville is a development of a private settlement on private land and does not fall under
the jurisdiction of any other local authority. Bakersville will do all necessary to follow the
regulatory requirements of Namibia, and wishes to develop sound relationships with its
neighbour local authorities.
- What is the estimated price that a vacant stand of average size would cost in Nevdale once
serviced?
Estimated to be between NAD 125,000 to NAD 175,000
- Is interest charged on the cost related to the reservation of a portion?
No
- Is interest charged on outstanding monthly payments?
No (if such appeared on invoices/statement, it is to be ignored)
- Do Nevdale/Bakersville consultants do door-to-door call?
No authorized person, on behalf of Bakersville Township Development (Pty) Ltd, a registered
Namibian company, do door to door solicitation.
Furthermore, the names and details of authorized consultants are available on the
Bakersville website, www.bakersvillenamibia.com and on its Facebook page. In cases of
uncertainty, ask for an identification from the person or write to
- How do I need to do my payments?
You select, at the beginning of your term, how you want to make payment, whether all at
once or in any selected consecutive monthly payments but not less than 30 equal payments
over 30 months. (For example: If the total cost is NAD 50000, then you can pay all at once, or
in any other multiple as long as it is monthly consecutively such as NAD 25,000 over 2
months, NAD 5,000 over 10 months but not less than NAD 1666.67 per month over 30
months. You cannot pay NAD 5000 now and then be quiet for four/five/six months and
suddenly make another. It will cause an administrative nightmare and you will be issued with
appropriate communication.
- What is the preferred monthly payment method?
Monthly payments (over 30 months) can be made:
ï‚· By EFT to the account number as reflected on the Reservation Agreement
ï‚· By Bank Stop Order (where you give your bank the instruction to monthly make the
payment out of your account)
ï‚· Cash deposits
NB: In all instances, please use your NEV- member/account number as the
reference.
- When do I need to make my monthly payments?
Before the end of the month. (Bakersville allows you to do it earlier if you so wish, but also
allows receipt of funds up to the 3rd of the next month – the reason being that some stop
orders that are deducted on the 30th will only appear in the company’s account 3 days later).
- What is the issue with the invoices and statements?
The volume of work required Bakersville to implement a new operational system a few
months ago which is also integrated with its accounting system. With the conversion from
the old method (Excel) to the new system, some irritating issues crept in, and everything had
to be re-entered by hand. However, an accounting team was employed to help sort out all
the niggly issues and to take charge of both the accounting and operational platforms. A
huge amount of work had already been completed and we trust to have all the rest sorted in
the next month or so. We profoundly apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused
and thank all clients for their patience and assistance.
In future a statement reflecting all the payments made, as well as the outstanding balance
will be issued monthly. This will eliminate any confusion with respect to payments made
(or not made) and how much is still outstanding on each account.
Any client not receiving a statement must please communicate to
debtors@bakersvillnamibia.com urgently!
- When do they begin with the groundwork?
Due to the enormity and scope of the development and project(s) within Bakersville as well
as the effect of a magnitude of external factors, it is a challenge to predict accurate dates and
time frames at this stage. However, the first focus/aim is to finalize the aspects that would
affect the Nevdale development project and the power and water supply for the bigger
Bakersville. The solar power supply predictions suggest a 18/24-month period for it to be
completed. Furthermore, engineers, architects, and other specialists are also hard at work to
the preparing of the eustatic requirements and construction specifications. These are
required to be approved by authoritative bodies before going out on tender and prior to
appointing civil construction and other development companies.
As soon as clearer timelines are available, these will be communicated.
